Serveillance
I decided to make the walls of my gallery white so they looked like a blank canvas for my images in the brown frames to stand out on. I also decided to have one of the rooms darker with black walls so the images being projected on the wall were the main focus. These images also lit themselves up in the room so I added less lights in there. I made my gallery larger with an open floor to get a sense that all of the focus is going towards my images. I displayed the images differently in every room so it’s like the viewer is getting something new every time they move on to a new section. In the first room all the photos are framed but in the second they are all on these large tv screens to get a sense that you are watching someone live on a recording. In the final room I projected the images onto a wall.
CCTV
I chose to have the images in the first room be framed pictures like in a normal art gallery, and in the second room i decided to have the pictures displayed on multiple monitors. I decided to do this to make my cctv photos look more real and like they would be stills from a video recording. In the third room i used a camera to project the images onto a wall.
I decided to have a main room leading into another then that room into the third room. I wanted all of the rooms to be slightly different from whether it was the way the images were displayed or maybe the colour of the walls would be different. So in the end i did decide to have all the rooms be displaying the work differently.
