CCTV
These images were all captured from the perspective of real CCTV cameras, aiming to depict the art of photography by freezing staged scenes into still life imagery.
People have a common conception when thinking about CCTV, that it is purley for deterring or catching someone in the act of committing a crime. I aim for people to engage with my work, promting them to contemplate the circumstances in which these innocent people are being captured by CCTV. While staging my photos I became increasingly aware of the volume of cameras surveilling me in every location. It led me to question, is better to be the watcher or the watched?
